Beau Lindsay teaches Latin and Model United Nations at MCHS. He was born in the Valley, and grew up in Orange County. He received his Bachelor’s degree in History and Classical Civilizations from UCLA in 2002, and his Master’s in Classical Civilizations from USC in 2007. After graduate school, he was ready to move on from the world of academia and focus on sharing his knowledge of the ancient world through teaching.
Mr. Lindsay enjoys helping students connect the ancient and modern worlds through the study of Roman culture and the Latin language. He believes that learning Latin not only helps students in their understanding of grammar and aids their vocabulary growth, but also engenders a broader understanding ofour world, its history, and the basis for Western humanities.
Mr. Lindsay has taught both high school and college level classes focusing on world history, United States government, Roman civilization, and Latin. He is also the Assistant Principal of Milken's Summer Academy and works throughout the year to organize and develop courses for it. In his fifth year at Milken, he is excited to continue to help students nurture a love for the ancient world, while developing a skill set suited for the modern one. When Mr. Lindsay is not teaching, he likes to read, watch movies, and travel. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his 1 year old son.
